Obligation to record working hours – ECJ ruling C-55/18
On May 14, 2019, the ruling on the obligation to record working hours was passed by the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. According to this ruling, all companies within the EU will be obliged to record all employees’ working hours.
This is to ensure that the daily working time of each employee can be measured. Employers are therefore obliged to provide an objective, reliable and accessible system.
However, no time frame has yet been set in which this is mandatory.
